He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward Howard Taylor and Garnye V. Royalty Taylor; his wife Barbara Ellis Taylor; and his brothers, Luwell Taylor, Dallas Taylor and Bobbie Taylor.

He is survived by : his sons, Brian Scott Taylor (Marie) and Steven Ellis Taylor (Martha); his grandchildren, Joshua Taylor, Amie Marie Imler (Brandon), Travis McAlpine Taylor and Shelby Ellis Taylor; and his great grandchild Gwyneth Fox Taylor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Taylor Family Forest Scholarship at the University of Kentucky, College of Agriculture, Food & Environment.
