He was predeceased by: his parents, James (Kathleen Carter) and Floridian; and his siblings, Beverly Bradshaw, Shirley Dempsey, J. M. Carter, Charlie Caster and Frankie Philips.
He is survived by: his wife Mary L. Carter; his children, Kimberly Adams (James), Jimmy Carter and Matthew Carter (Stephanie); and his brother Marvin Philips (Joanne) of Georgia. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Beyers Funeral Home and Crematory - Umatilla (279 S Central Ave, Umatilla, FL 32784).
