He was predeceased by: his parents, James Owen Bates and Ruth Allen Bates. He is survived by: his daughter Melinda Perkins (Andy); his grandchildren, Gina Hubbard (Collin) and Jeremiah Perkins (Kristin); and his great grandchildren, Jett Pancak, Carson Hubbard and Myra Perkins.
