He was predeceased by: his wife Lisa Heffernan; his parents, William Heffernan and Philomena Heffernan; and his sister Frances. He is survived by: his siblings, Vicky and Bill; his close friend Julie; his daughter Leah; his stepson Anthony; his siblings-in-law, Mary and Pat; and his friend Kilkenny. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews.
