He was predeceased by : his siblings, Constance Akerley (Russell Akerley), John "Pete" Lucas (Lorraine Lucas), Christine Currier (Bryant Currier) and Ronald Lucas (Janis Lucas); and his parents, John L. Lucas and Madeline Lucas.

He is survived by : his wife Rosemary Lucas; his daughter Keri Lucas (John Barsosky); his grandson Jackson Barsosky of Huntersville, NC; his daughter Megan Lucas of The Villages, FL.; and his siblings, Janet Welch (James Welch) and L. Michael Lucas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Donations in Rodney's memory can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.

“Rod's memory for me encompassed the richness of his life in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, where he and the rest of my cousins grew up, and I can only imagine the depth of loss you must be feeling. It's heartening to know he was surrounded by love, living in The Villages with his wife, Rose, and being close to Megan, with Keri not too far away in NC.
