He is survived by: his wife Susan Lupien Bender; his children, Deborah Kennedy of Porto, Amy Benton and Frank Bender; his grandchildren, John Kennedy, Derek Kennedy, Abigail Benton, Nathan Benton, Amanda Gillespie, Emily Bender and Fred Bender; his sister Linda Fiscus; and his pet Bella.
