He was predeceased by: his wife Marjorie Ross Hicks; and his sister Beverly Darnell. He is survived by: his children, Beverly Flanagan (Mike) and Stuart K. Hicks, III; his grandsons, Alexander and Michael Flanagan; and his sisters, Maxine Neagle and Mary Jean Deal.
