He is survived by: his wife Cathy Patten; his children, Natalie Patten, Melanie Nielson (Jeff) and Joe Patten (Claire); his grandchildren, Chloe Harris (Dylan), Joey Smith, Ella Patten, Molly Kate Patten, Jay Nielson and Max Nielson; and his great grandchild Waylon Smith.
