He was predeceased by : his parents, Daniel DiBartolomeo and Gemma (Conz); his former life partner Ruth Irene Bartolomeo (Schmidt); his siblings, Alise, Gino, Daniel, Guy, Julie and Edward; and his son Daniel R. Bartolomeo.
He is survived by : his wife Phebe M. Bartolomeo (Barter); his children, Mark Edward, Gemma Ruth, John Russel, Shirley Mae, Lois Marie and Scott Raymond; and his sister Virginia.
He was instrumental in the design and manufacture of the nuclear reactor in the Nautilus Submarine and was awarded a medal of recognition for his contribution to the success and development of this project.
