He was predeceased by: his parents, Vonda Gatewood and Woodrow Gatewood; and his brother Paul Gatewood. He is survived by: his son Jason Madden (Michele); his grandson Robert Lawson (Miranda); his siblings, Melba Motley, Hilda Thames (Donnie), Vicky Stewart (David), Wesley Gatewood (Faye), Tony Gatewood (Belinda) and Larry Cunningham (Sharon); and his siblings' children, Jacob Gatewood and Calista Gatewood.
