He was predeceased by: his wife Mary E. Walsh; his former wife Cynthia Walsh; and his brothers, Dana Walsh and Robert Walsh. He is survived by: his children, Richard Thomas Walsh (Stephanie), Timothy Walsh (Sara Bruinooge), Cynthia Chapman (Gary) and Jonathan Walsh (Rebecca); his stepchildren, Paul Embry, Stephen Embry and Ellen Ricca (Jimmy); and his grandchildren, Cullen Walsh, Elizabeth Walsh, Jesse Walsh, Emily Amodio (Nick), Kyle Chapman (Kayla), Zack Chapman (Kristen), Ryan Chapman, Avery Walsh, Riley Walsh, Meaghan Embry, Christina Embry and Shaye McCarthy (Jeremiah). He is also survived by five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Donations can be made in Richard's name to the Bright Focus Foundation to provide research for Alzheimer's a very personal battle for the love of his life.
