With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Betty Joyce (Thompson) Vickers of Bartow, Florida, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 20, 2025 at the age of 62. In the vast expanse of eternity, Betty Joyce shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Betty Joyce farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Truman Thompson and Lillie Mae Thompson; and her siblings, John Sr., Truman Jr., Rodney Sr. and Shirley.
She is survived by: her husband Jimmy Vickers Jr.; and her siblings, Ruth Spinks of Lakeland, Derwood Thompson of Gainesville and Kathy Berry (John) of Homeland.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Whidden-McLean Funeral Home (650 E Main St, Bartow, FL 33830). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Turning Point Worship Center (1400 E Georgia St, Bartow, FL 33830).
