We announce the death of Joann Jones of Bartow, Florida, who passed away on August 26, 2026, at the age of 86. Joann will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Joann will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Joann will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Joann’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She is survived by: her children, Cynthia Sykes, Kathy Woods, Sandra Lyons and James Ellis; and her siblings, George Phipps (Francis) and Inez Laidler. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gause Funeral Home (625 S Holland Pkwy, Bartow, FL 33830). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Praise Temple (1010 Britts Ln, Bartow, FL 33830).
