With sadness, we share the passing of Margie Hattaway Griffin (Bartow, Florida). Margie, born on April 24, 1943, passed away on September 22, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Emmett F. Griffin; her parents, Ellis Harvell Hattaway and Lizzie Rebecca Hart Hattaway; and her siblings, Edward Hattaway, Orbie Hattaway Hardin, Oweeda Hattaway Moore, Eleanor "Doodle" Hattaway Joiner, Jimmy Hattaway and Nadine Hattaway Foster.
She is survived by: her brother Donnie Hattaway (Dorothy) of Brunswick; and her siblings-in-law, William Griffin (Barbara) of Macon and Annette Griffin of Bartow. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Whidden-McLean Funeral Home (650 E Main St, Bartow, FL 33830). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Food Pantry at First Baptist Church in Bartow, Florida.
