He was predeceased by: his parents, Marguerite Adella Bassett (Bailey) and Eldridge Leo Bassett; and his sister Sandra Marie Bassett. He is survived by: his wife Maureen Bassett (Zopf); his sister Debra Sargent (Todd); his sons, Brent Bassett (Jennifer), Gregory Bassett, Jr. (Elaine) and Mark Bassett (Krista); his grandchildren, Gregory, Nash, Brady, Connor, Ruby, Ava and Emily; and his great grandchildren, Magnolia, Marigold and Penelope.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
