“I am terribly sad to hear the news of Herman’s passing. He was a big influence on me as a role model, what a volunteer leader says and does, at our time together at the Federation. We worked together on what used to be called “cash collection,” trying to get as much money into the annual campaign as possible so that it could be spent on all the good things we both believed in.
