He is survived by: his wife Gayle; his children, Julie (James Tomsula), Jason (Annette Gerlitz Appel) and Jennell (Ray Voigt); his brother Gary Appel; and his sibling's children, Britney, Brooke (Marshall Todd), Taiya, Hadley and Locklyn.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the Lynn Cancer Institute of Boca Raton.
