He was predeceased by: his wife Mary L. Levin; his parents, Fannie Levin and Joseph Levin; and his sister Miriam Drew Wayne. He is survived by: his daughter Linda Forrester; his wife Joanne Levin; his sons, Steven Christopher Levin and Erik Matthew Levin; his former spouses, Bryna Blank and Jackie Levin; his daughter Mandy Fay Forrester; his former spouse George Bernard Wald; his stepsons, John Gerard Forrester III and Bradley Murray Forrester; his former wife Raquel Isabel Olivieri; his sister-in-law Aida Seitz (late Joe Seitz); his nephew Joseph Seitz; his niece Lisa Pearson; Mark Pearson, Cameron Pearson (Emma Pearson) and Danielle Smith (Andrew Smith).

Through this leadership and dedication, he made lasting contributions to the sport of weightlifting and to the athletes and organizations he supported.
