With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Shirley Akman of Boca Raton, Florida, who passed away on October 2, 2025 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Morton Jerome Akman; her sister Louise Pasarew (Jack); her brothers-in-law, Alvin Akman and Malcom Gorelick; and her parents, Sarah Jacobs and Samuel Jacobs.
She is survived by: her sons, Steven Akman (Anita Leonard), Michael Akman (Shelly Lurie-Akman) and Scott Akman (Terri); her sisters-in-law, Marion Akman, Anita Steinberg (Melvin) and Natalie Gorelick; her grandchildren, Joshua Akman (Lauren), Frederick Akman (Autumn Speaks), Shea Beitler-Akman (Hilary Frink), Rachel Rodin (Victor), Sonia Akman, Jesse Akman (Betsy Sumerford) and Brady Akman; and her great grandchildren, Willow Akman, Evelyn Akman and Olivia Akman.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Sol Levinson's Chapel (8900 Reisterstown Rd, Pikesville, MD 21208).
