He was predeceased by : his parents, Benjamin Franklin Smith and Helen Lounette Hilson Smith; and his brother Ray Franklin Smith. He is survived by : his wife Audrey Smith of Bonifay, FL; his sons, John L. Smith Jr. (Andrea) of Bonifay, FL, Benjamin Timothy Smith (Rebecca) of Bonifay, FL and Thomas Daniel Smith of Bonifay, FL; his sisters, Sarah Smith of Bonifay, FL and Lounette Wilkerson of Cottondale, FL; and his grandchildren, Jonathan Smith, Tyler Smith, Jessica Smith, Hannah Smith, Abbigail Duffey, Alexis Duffey, Annabel Duffey, Aubrey Grace Duffey, Benjamin Smith Jr., Ashley Gregory, Michael Chance, Amanda Ross, Delinger Chance and Alaric Ross. He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
