He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Doherty and Rose Doherty; and his wife Claire Ann. He is survived by: his children, Patrick J. Doherty of East Meadow, NY, Dennis F. Doherty (Veronika) of Hewitt, NJ, Sharon R. Woitko (Noel Deceased) of Valley Stream, NY, Andrew T. Doherty (Kathleen) of Pickens, SC and John J. Doherty (Donna) of Wantagh, NY; his grandchildren, Shawna, Patrick, Paul, Michael, John, Andrew, Katherine and Brian; his brothers, John Doherty and Patrick Doherty; and his close friend Veronica Early. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research in memory of Andy and his late wife, Claire Ann.
