He was predeceased by: his former wife Phyllis Finkelstein; his siblings, Minnie "Bonnie" Lipsitz (Philip Louis), Arnold Finkelstein (June Hilda), Joseph Herbert Finkelstein (Bernice) and Sara Mez (Joseph); his stepdaughter Gail Kessler; and his parents, Fannie Finkelstein and Ellis Finkelstein.
He is survived by: his wife Frances R. Kessler (Nee Rashbaum); his son Ben Finkelstein (Laurie Hollander); his stepson Dr. Michael Kessler (Lani); his grandchildren, Dinah Berenblum, Gabriel Ellis Finkelstein (Chava Creque), Mariah Beth Finkelstein, Heather Leonard (Randy), Ryan Perlberg, Jeffrey Kessler (Joan), Laura Kessler and Molli Pilch; and his great grandchildren, Gavin Samuel Leonard, Eve Abigail Leonard and Ben Kenobi Kessler.
