She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Smoot and Eula Powell Smoot; and her siblings, Dennis Smoot and Emily Smith. She is survived by: her husband David Edwards; her daughters, Lynn Edwards of Marion, NC and Alana Edwards (Cary Nicolo); her grandchildren, Erin Hernandez (Pedro) of Morganton, NC and Jason Sheppard (Shereece) of Clyde, NC; her siblings, Maggie Terry and Ray Smoot (Nancy); and her nieces and nephews, Laurie Smith, Wendy Smith, Susan McGovern, Jon and Robert Smoot.
