TOM BAKOS wrote a sympathy message

“I met Mike when we both worked for Guardian Life starting in 1989. During our time there and after for a while we kept in touch and I remember happily or occasional dinners on Friday nights with John Sawyer and our wives. I don't know what it was but we got along and I always looked forward to seeing him. I had lost track as we both left the NY/NJ area and he moved to Florida and we to Colorado. But, the memories are good and will be cherished all the more. Sorry to see you go Mike.”

Susan Stregack wrote a sympathy message

“Baruch Dayan Ha'Emet. I met Mike in 1957 at Camp Schodack, and we remained friends since that time. When we were campers, he and I were co-captains during Tribals (the Schodack version of Color War); when we were counselors, we were co-generals. Our team won both times! Mike was a good friend to me and to his gang from Forest Hills High School. He had a dry, sometimes wacky sense of humor. And he was a mensch! My condolences to Ellen and their children and grandchildren.”

Paul wrote a sympathy message

“I was so sad to hear of Mike’s passing. Mike was such an important person in camp’s early history and was truly one of the camp’s pioneer campers and staff. Mike had so much life and spirit at camp. Everyone knew and loved him. I can still hear the camp dining room chant of Twenty, Thirty, Forty, Fifty, who do we think is mighty nifty – Shifty. Knowing Mike, it just might have been he who invented that chant! I will miss Mike and all he meant to this place. Paul Krouner-Camp Schodack”
