He was predeceased by: his sister Sandra Hess. He is survived by: his wife Bernice Shafran; his sons, Richard Shafran (Stacey) and Gary Shafran (Lori); his grandchildren, Matthew, Jacklyn, Shoshanna and Ryan; and his sister-in-law Marilyn Widlitz.
