He is survived by: his mother Marion Bates (Robbins) of Bradenton, FL; his son Jeremy Bates of Newport, Vermont; his wife Jeanne Bates of Bradenton, FL; his daughter Jennifer Moffat (Joshua) of Powhantan, Virginia; his grandsons, Bryan and Adam Fontaine of Newport, Vermont.; his stepsons, Scott Wing and Chris Wing (Megan Sargent) of Newport, Vermont.; his sisters, Laurie Wood (Tom) of Barton, VT and Kimberly Corey (John) of Farmington, CT; and his sisters-in-law, Terry L'Esperance of Littleton, NH, Rita Fortin (Norbert) of Newport, VT and Annette Haynes (Earl) of Rutland, VT. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins.
