He was predeceased by: his parents, George Atwell, Sr. and Margie Rivas Atwell; and his mother-in-law Sadie Bolch. He is survived by: his wife Susan Atwell; his son David; his daughter-in-law Dodie Pettit Atwell; his grandchildren, Morgan, Zoe, Marina and Ethan Atwell of Sarasota; and his sister Susan Teal (Jim) of Pensacola. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of close friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Fred's memory to one of his favorite charities: Interfaith Center of Concern (Anniston, Alabama), Anniston Soup Bowl, or Rainbow Omega, Inc. (Eastaboga, Alabama).
