He was predeceased by: his former wife Shirley A. Almeter; his siblings, Donald Almeter, Barbara Almeter Ripstein, Darwin Almeter, Regina Almeter Lewis and Richard Almeter; and his stepdaughter Cathy Walls.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Walls Almeter; his children, Debbie Almeter Lloyd, Tim Almeter (Nanette) and Kim Ann Almeter Wilder (David Wilder); his stepchildren, Vicki Lee (Michael) and Rick Walls (Shannon); his grandchildren, Natalie Almeter, Grayson Almeter, Madelyn Wilder and Sergeant Dylan Wilder; and his brothers, David Almeter and Bobby Almeter.
