He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel "Leon" Whitman and Frances McLemore Whitman; and his brothers, Charles Whitman and Michael Whitman. He is survived by: his wife Carol Whitman; his sister Linda Hutchinson; and his grandchildren, Clint Whitman (Bridget), Grayson Whitman (Sara) and Noah Whitman. He is also survived by family members and friends.
