Walter Henry Bouma Obituary
Walter Henry Bouma of Bradenton, Florida, passed away on July 3, 2024 in the care of Tidewell Hospice in Lakewood Ranch.
Walter was born in Irvington, New Jersey, on August 17, 1945. He attended high school at Manatee High School. Walter served in the US Navy for four years of active service and two years in reserve. He went on to earn a degree in Radiation Therapy and practiced in the field for thirty years. Walter has been involved as a supporter to the Manatee Humane Society. He has provided homes for numerous animals throughout his life.
Walter is survived by his life partner of 48 years, Michael Kelley, his sister-in-law, Sharon Bouma of Washington, and his cousins and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Delbert Bouma, his mother, Hazel Pofahl Bouma, his stepmother, Virginia Koellhoffer Bouma, and his brother, James Bouma.
Graveside service will be held at the National Cemetery located in Sarasota, Florida, at a future date. Robert Toale & Sons Funeral Home at Manasota Memorial Park will be handling the arrangements.
