It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Catherine Shelton Wheeler of Brandon, Florida, who passed away on September 16, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Catherine shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Catherine farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Marvin Shelton and Ruby Shelton (Whittaker); her son Kevin Wheeler; her husband Merel Wheeler; and her brother Edward Shelton.
She is survived by: her daughter Tara Prather (Mike) of Valrico, Florida; her grandson J. D. Prather of Valrico, Florida; her sister Teresa Peyton of Fredericksburg, Virginia; and her sister-in-law Rebecca Shelton of Fredericksburg, Virginia. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Covenant Funeral Home (10830 Patriot Hwy, Fredericksburg, VA 22408). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the New Hope Church (213 N Knights Ave, Brandon, FL 33510).
