He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Brant and Maggie MacMillan Brant; his parents-in-law, Wilma and Vaughn Shelnutt; and his brother-in-law Joseph Shelnutt (Sylvia).
He is survived by: his wife Jeanne; his brother Jimmy Brant (Barbara); his sisters-in-law, Elaine McGinty (Ray) and Andrea Callaway (Harold); his nephew Jeff Brant (Julie); his niece Paula Sweat (David); his daughter-in-law Lotharie Brant; his grandchildren, DJ Brant (Trisha), Laura Gransden (Benn) and Lexie Turner (James); and his great grandchildren, Parker, Emmett Brant and Beckett Gransden. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations be made to Wounded Warrior Project, Tunnels to Towers Foundation, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Bible Society.
