He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Riggs and Florence Riggs; his great grandchild John Gordon Riggs; and his wife Gloria Faye (McCool). He is survived by: his children, Jillana Lohrmann (Brent), Tom Riggs (Tammy) and Andrea Ellis (John); his grandchildren, Krista Sietsema, Kelly Naylor, Tommy Riggs and Evan Ellis; and his great grandchildren, Kyra Naylor, Tenley Naylor, Kinsley Riggs and Hazel Sietsema.
