He was predeceased by: his former wife Dominica Z. Sterling; and his parents, Martin Sr. Nelson and Virginia Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Mercedes Castillo; his children, Angie Evans (Rick) and Martin Sterling III (Janice); his grandchildren, Kristy, Brad, Ericka, Ryan, Martin IV and Jordan; his great grandchildren, Ayden, Jackson and Zinnia; and his pet Poppi.
The family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Humane Society of Somerset County in Martin's honor.
