Barbara Chaires Smith-Taylor Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on June 21, 2023, at the age of 93, Barbara Chaires Smith-Taylor of Branford, Florida passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, E. B. Chaires, Sr. and Electra Stoutamire Chaires of Chaires, FL.; her husbands, James C. Smith and Robert G. Taylor of Tallahassee; her brother E. B. Chaires, Jr.; her sister-in-law Alice Chaires; and her stepson-in-law Jerry Young.
She is survived by: her siblings, Alice Simmons (Billy) of Tallahassee and Harry Chaires (Nan) of Chaires, FL.. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Gospel Light Baptist Church, 3415 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee, FL, 32311 or to Lighthouse Children's Home, 7771 Mahan Drive, Tallahassee, FL, 32309.
