She was predeceased by : her husband Victor Eugene Hypes; her parents, Jay Pittman Jernigan and Mary Snow Jernigan; and her siblings, Pittman Jernigan, Max Jernigan, Nell Jernigan Austin and Leona Jernigan Sellers.

She is survived by : her siblings, Mallory Jernigan (Pat) and Patricia Jernigan McQuaig (Terry); her sister-in-law Wanda Jernigan; her children, Marsha Hypes Hopkins (Dan), Jay Hypes (Beth) and Jeff Hypes (Peggy); and her grandchildren, Bobby Person, Elsie Ritchie, Caroline Ritchie, Bailey Hypes, Aubrey Hypes, Virginia Ritchie, Kayla Spivey, Ariel Hitchcock and Justin Hypes. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and lovely great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations to be made to Eden Baptist Church in Lake Lindsay, the VFW, or Hospice of Florida.
