He was predeceased by: his parents, James Wilson Burnette and Martha Burnette; and his daughter Kim Thrasher. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Langworthy; his children, James Jr. (Debra) and Kelly Jackson (Bo); and his granddaughter Kristen Thrasher. He is also survived by child, and Shirley had 12 brothers and a sister, and lots of nieces.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Brewer & Sons Funeral Home Brooksville Chapel (1190 S Broad St, Brooksville, FL 34601). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Lake Lindsey Cemetery (22371 Lake Lindsey Rd, Brooksville, FL 34601).
