He is survived by: his wife Merle Richards Varner; his children, Angela Varner, Debbie Scannell (Matt) and Richard Kerr (Kelly); his grandchildren, Devlin Lewis, Nicole Kerr and Rikki Burkhart; and his niece Judy Prevost.
