He was predeceased by: his parents, William Henry and Anne-Louise Truax. He is survived by: his wife Sue Ellen Butterfield; and his son Col. William James Truax, Jr. (Robert). He is also survived by grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
The military honors will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Florida National Cemetery (6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513-8914).
