He was predeceased by: his parents, Elworth Higginbotham and Maude Peterson Higginbotham Simmons. He is survived by: his wife Iris Rae Holton (Jesus); his daughters, Keri Ybarra (Charles "Skeeter") and Melissa Green (Donald); his grandchildren, Ethan Green, Evan Green, Kyle Carranza and Kash Raulerson; and his sister Sharilyn G. Meares. He is also survived by ses many nephews and nieces, great- nephews and great-nieces.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Nassau Funeral Home (541720 US-1, Callahan, FL 32011). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Edgewood Cemetery (4519 N Edgewood Dr, Jacksonville, FL 32219).
