He was predeceased by : his parents, Laura Pugh Shelby and Joseph Wheeler Shelby; his brothers, Joseph Shelby, James-Irvin "Jim" Shelby and Theodore "Dago" Shelby; and his son Jerry Houston Shelby Jr..
He is survived by : his wife Linda Simmons Shelby; his daughters, Mellondy Shelby Schmidt (Kurt) and Emily Shelby Benavides (Chris); his grandchildren, Alex, Matthew and Isabella Benavides; and his pets, Sarge, Sascha, Scottie Mae, Scout and Oliver. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 30th 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Faith Chapel Funeral Home and Crematory (North) (1000 S Hwy 29, Cantonment, FL 32533). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 30th 2023 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
