He is survived by: his father Larry Coates; his siblings, Jay Coates (Cheryl), Andy Coates (Ginny), Donnie Coates (Pamela) and Kellie Everett (Terry Jr.); and his children, Justin Johnson (Haley), Ashton Coates, Kaitlin Boyd, Shelbie Coates, Sidney Shelby and JJ Coates. He is also survived by his grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
