With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Melvin Edward Riley Sr. (Cantonment, Florida), born in Linwood, Kansas, who passed away on October 9, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Riley and Juanita Riley; and his brothers, Wayne and Kenny Riley. He is survived by: his wife Virginia M. Riley; his children, Ginna and Ed Riley; his granddaughter Virginia (SS); and his sister Sharon Gentry.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Faith Chapel Funeral Home and Crematory (1000 S Hwy 29, Cantonment, FL 32533-6418). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Barrancas National Cemetery (1 Cemetery Rd, Pensacola, FL 32508).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Tunnel to Towers in support of the men and women who carry forward the torch of service that LTC Riley so valiantly upheld, or to St Lukes United Methodist church, or Ellisville First Methodist church.
