She was predeceased by: her parents, John William and Margaret Mary Rathjens; and her sister Janet. She is survived by: her former husband John C. Gorla, Sr. of Sebastian, FL; her son John C. Gorla, Jr. (Michelle Sosa) of Woodbridge, VA; her grandchildren, Lauren Kathleen Gillespie (Kip) of Lexington, KY, Dorothy Diane Leggett (Donny) of Eatonton, GA, Austin John Gorla of Eatonton, GA and John Arthur Gorla (Brianna) of Macon, GA.; her daughter Suzanne Marie Nickelson (Steve); her grandchildren, Danny Cox (Cody) and Julianne Cox; and her sisters, Joyce Atela of Rockville Centre, NY and Brenda Courtien (Victor) of Wantagh, NY.. She is also survived by nine Great Grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a Catholic faith-based charity of your choice or to St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Community, Cape Coral, FL, in Claudia's name, so that her spirit of generosity may continue to bless others.
