He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Baker and Gladys Baker; and his brother Charles. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Baker of Cape Coral; his siblings, William, Robert, Barbara and Linda; his children, John Edward Baker, Jr. (Ann) of Columbia, MD and Shaun Derek Baker; and his stepchildren, Sherrie Quevedo of Cape Coral and Ray Quevedo, IV (Chris).

In lieu of flowers, send donations to Moffitt Cancer in Tampa in John's name.

“My family and I will be forever grateful after Hurricane Irma. Most of our wooden fence fell down. Boards were everywhere. Many boards were still attached to the posts. It was a big job to clean up everything. John volunteered to help me take all of it down. Really, I helped him! He wouldn't stop until the job was done. Thank you, John! I also appreciated him showing me his 2 collections. He was a good neighbor. John loved his neighbors!”
