He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Shearn and Mary Agnes Scully; and his siblings, Dee Stinner, Robert Jr., Raymond and Sue DeJohn.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Rose Shearn; his great grandchild Laura Jean Stevens; his children, Brandon Joseph, Michael Patrick, Renee Suzanne Gehrke, Paige Nicole, Zachary William, Joseph Patrick Shearn Jr. (Joey), Mallory Lynn, Rosalyn Marie, Jace Liam and Ashlyne Nicole; his grandchildren, Landon Christopher and Parker Christopher; his son Bryce Joseph; his grandchildren, Emilia Jane (Emmy) and Mason James; his children, Tylor Patrick, Tanner Reece and Richard William Miller; his granddaughter Katie Rose; his great grandchildren, Hailey Nicole, James David and Jordyn Grace; his grandchildren, Sara Marie, Michael Raymond Shearn and Kevin Scott Shearn; his daughters, Alyssa Marie and Jasmine Nicole; his grandchildren, Aurora Leanne and Remi Joseph; his children, Amber Faith, Janine Josephine, Ava Lynn, Cassidy Elizabeth, Caydence Olivia, Kevin Scott Jr., Genevieve Leigh (Vivi) and Rowan Quinn; and his granddaughter Vivi. He is also survived by six children, twenty-two grandchildren.
