He was predeceased by: his former wife Elizabeth Boys Stone; his daughters, Elizabeth and Paulina "Pookie"; his parents, Hyman "Snap" Fitzhugh and Bertha Stone; and his siblings, Hugh and Betty.
He is survived by: his wife Deborah; his son David G. Stone, Jr. (Lisa); his stepdaughters, Honey Cross and Dannah Lewis-Livingston; and his grandchildren, David III, Jarred (Rose), Christinah (Jordan), Bryan (Haley) and Evan (Sara). He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, five nephews and a niece.
