She was predeceased by: her fathers, William G. Mercer Sr. and Louie Elizabeth Hicks; her husband Jerry Obert; and her siblings, Mercer Jr., Carlton Mercer, Magdalene Walsingham and Evelyn Mercer.
She is survived by: her daughter LaJuana Malloy (Wesley) of Chipley, Florida; her grandchildren, Eli Malloy (Jenna) and Mary Elizabeth Vardaman (Alex); and her great grandchildren, Avalyn Vardaman, Issac Vardaman, Addison Claire Malloy, James Wesley Vardaman and Charlie Tate Malloy.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Obert Funeral Home Chapel (731 Kirkland Rd, Chipley, FL 32428). A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 9:00 AM at the Rock Hill Church Cemetery (339 Rock Hill Church Rd, Cottondale, FL 32431).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to Holmes County Council on Aging.
