With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorothy Mackus of Chipley, Florida, who passed away on October 9, 2025 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Dorothy shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Dorothy farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Novak and Rose Novak A; her husband Peter Mackus; and her sons, Frank Mackus and Richard Mackus.
She is survived by: her sons, Edward Herbert Mackus of Chipley, FL and Peter Mackus of Maryland; her grandson Edward Frank Mackus (Destiney Hope Mackus) of Chipley, FL; and her great grandchildren, Edward Frank Mackus Jr., Justin Wayne Mackus and Zackery Carter Mackus.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Theresa Catholic Church (2071 Sunny Hills Blvd, Chipley, FL 32428). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
