It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Elsie L. Gainey (Chipley, Florida), who passed away on October 2, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Harold Gainey; her parents, Lillie Pearl Moates and Ernest Taylor; and her brother Robert Earl Taylor. She is survived by: her children, Mellody Gainey Hughes (Joel Hughes) and Chad Gainey (Gina Enfinger Gainey); her sisters, Janie Patillo of South Florida and Virginia Calhoun of South Florida; and her grandchildren, Jessica Gainey, Brittany Gainey Story (Bryan Story), Casey Gainey Whitman (Drake Whitman) and Jesse Gainey (Sydney Sabash Gainey).
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Obert Funeral Home (731 Kirkland Rd, Chipley, FL 32428). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at the Glenwood Cemetery (1429 Carmichael Dr, Chipley, FL 32428).
